Hongyan Village, renowned for its stunning red Danxia landform, holds a significant place in China’s revolutionary history and is a pivotal site for red tourism. This village not only attracts visitors with its natural beauty but also serves as a testament to the resilience and determination showcased during one of the country's most challenging periods.

Located beside the scenic Jialing River, Hongyan Village gained its evocative name from the distinctive red rock formations that dominate its landscape. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the village was home to the Southern Bureau of the Communist Party of China, where esteemed leaders, including the late Premier Zhou Enlai, played crucial roles in mobilizing the Party's operations. The establishment of the Southern Bureau in 1939 marked a significant effort in uniting forces against the aggressors, paving the way for China's eventual victory.
