On June 16, the opening ceremony of the "China Tourism Year in Kazakhstan" took place at the National Museum of Kazakhstan in Astana. The designation of "China Tourism Year in Kazakhstan" is a significant consensus reached by the leaders of both countries. During the ceremony, Sun and Koshzhanov jointly inaugurated the exhibition titled "Silk and Silk Road: From China to Kazakhstan." This exhibition is one of the major activities of the tourism year, aimed at showcasing both the rich historical legacy of the Silk Road culture and its vibrant modern developments.
The exhibition highlights the friendly exchanges and cultural integration between China and countries along the Silk Road. It is organized into three sections: The Origin of Silk, The Silk Road, and The Uses of Silk, featuring a total of 145 exhibits (including 21 historical artifacts). The exhibition will be open to the public until August 8.
In addition to the exhibition, the opening ceremony included various cultural performances, a Hanfu fashion show, and intangible cultural heritage experiences. Furthermore, the China Silk Museum and the National Museum of Kazakhstan signed a cooperation memorandum, marking an important step for cultural collaboration between the two nations.
