Summer Travel Surge Brings Global Tourists to Beijing's Great Wall

As China's inbound tourism reaches new heights this summer, the Badaling section of the Great Wall in Beijing is witnessing an influx of international visitors. The iconic landmark, often associated with the saying, "He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man," remains a must-see destination for travelers from around the globe.

In response to this surge in tourism, Badaling has introduced a range of services tailored to international guests. The ticketing system has been modernized to accept cash, mobile payments, and international credit cards through point-of-sale machines. Furthermore, a new mobile ticketing platform allows foreign visitors to easily purchase their tickets using passports or permanent residence permits.

The venue has also made significant enhancements to its multilingual infrastructure. To aid non-Chinese speakers, the scenic area now features standardized bilingual signage for emergencies, navigation, and safety, which contributes to a more seamless visiting experience for all.

As part of its efforts to promote accessibility, China has implemented unilateral visa-free or reciprocal visa exemption policies for citizens of 75 countries. This initiative is complemented by transit visa-free policies that cater to individuals from 55 countries, allowing entry through 60 ports across the nation.

Additionally, travelers benefiting from these policies can now enjoy extended stays of up to 240 hours, or 10 days, making the prospect of visiting China more appealing and manageable than ever before.
