Beijing Opens Art Exhibition for 80 Years of Resistance

On August 25, the exhibition titled "People Will Win — Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese War and the World Anti-Fascist War" commenced at the China Art Museum in Beijing. This event, co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, features over 300 pieces of both classic and contemporary artworks. Collectively sourced from renowned institutions like the China Art Museum, the Exhibition Hall of the History of the Communist Party of China, and the Museum of the Chinese People's Revolutionary Military, the artworks highlight a diverse range of mediums, including Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, sculpture, and watercolor.

The central theme of the exhibition revolves around the collective struggle of the Chinese people against enemies during the Anti-Japanese War, drawing attention to the resilient spirit of resistance. The Prologue prominently showcases classic artworks like “Meeting in Tokyo,” “The Torch of Yan'an,” “Roar, China,” and “Relief of the People's Heroes Monument: Anti-Japanese Guerilla Warfare.” These pieces powerfully convey patriotic feelings and underscore the notion that the destiny of the nation rests in the hands of every individual.
