Tiananmen Square is preparing for a significant cultural event as it marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan. Scheduled for September 3, the commemoration honors both the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The central area of Tiananmen Square is now largely outfitted for the occasion, adorned with vibrant decorations in red, gold, and green. The base's green symbolizes the land, while the gold sun above represents the dawn of progress for the Chinese nation.

The design for the square was meticulously created by a team from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. This scheme was selected and refined after thorough discussions and consideration of over 100 proposals.

Tian Zhongli, the head of the planning and design department for the event, explained the positioning of the year pedestals beside the Monument to the People's Heroes, featuring '1945' and '2025.' This choice highlights the commemorative theme effectively.

The pedestals are designed to reflect the Great Wall, featuring seven dove sculptures on either side. These doves symbolize the 14-year struggle endured by the Chinese people during the war, representing resilience and hope.

According to Tian, the 14 doves serve as a prominent feature of the design. They embody the collective quest for and safeguarding of peace by millions of Chinese citizens and peace-loving individuals worldwide.

Along Chang'an Avenue, ten large themed flowerbeds have been installed, drawing the attention of citizens and tourists alike. Many are eager to capture the beauty in photographs as they prepare for the significant event.

In anticipation of the ceremony, Beijing has organized specially designed service packs for attendees. These packs are aimed at enhancing the experience of those participating in the event.

Notably, the service packs feature three small pockets arranged to form the number '80,' reflecting the anniversary theme. These packs will be distributed to viewing areas on the day before the celebration.
